Until this week I have never had a problem connecting my Garmin HRM to Zwift. About 2 years. This week I have decided to try a multi-day ride. Simply hop off the bike while keeping the Zwift app running. On the second day all of my sensors said they were disconnected. I was able to reconnect to all except my HRM. The HRM-Dual has Bluetooth and ANT+ connectivity, so it will work with sports watches as well as your smartphone. If you're looking for more, you can choose the Garmin HRM Run/Swim/Pro, which all If you run as well as cycle, the HRM-Pro Plus has Garmin's Running Dynamics built in, which'll save you having to purchase something like Garmin's Pod, which costs £59.99 on its own. Running Dynamics measures things like stride length, cadence, ground contact time, vertical ratio, vertical oscillation and left/right foot balance. The Polar Pro strap is great as a replacement strap for a Garmin modular HRM like the HRM-Dual or the original HRM-Run. I have used an HRM-3 pod on a Polar Pro and Polar Soft strap with no issues. I have a training partner who uses a modular HRM-Run with a Polar Pro strap. Having said that, the pod’s tiny size is a mere 37.6 mm x 23.2 mm x 19.2 mm and weight 12 grams. So I could see myself eventually losing it, either by leaving it in my pocket or misplacing it Restart the smartwatch to fix this problem. Press and hold down the power button for up to 5 seconds or until the watch turns off. Release the button. Again, press and hold down the power button for another 5 seconds for the watch to turn on. Go back to the Garmin Connect app and repair the watch. Like it or not, Garmin just made itself a competitor to Stryd. For pure running power and RD metrics, that means Stryd costs roughly three times as much as Garmin for the exact same data (RD-POD is $69, versus Stryd at $199). Stryd would (rightfully) argue they have a wider online platform in running analytics. HRM Dual vs Swim vs Pro vs Pro Plus: still better than wrist heart rate monitors. The value of such devices are that they are much more precise than something attached to your wrist. Garmin may be My cheap garmin strap came with my Edge 800, so over 8 years now. Still going strong. (I did replace the elastic part once, but the brains are still working). My Garmin HRM (run) strap may be killed as I cannot get the stench out of it. Pretty bad when you struggle to outrun your own HRM strap stench. lrHr.
