4013GT was a 250 GT SWB California Spyder, completed in 1962, it was an open headlight steel version, delivered to Emil Tossi, Michigan, USA. According to Joe Moch, 4013GT started life as a covered headlight California. But Tossi didn’t like covered headlights and so he changed it to open headlights.
All told, 14 LWB California Spiders were built during 1958, with the remaining 36 cars being built between 1959 and 1960. Chassis 1055 GT, the LWB California Spider presented here, was the 11th example built, and it was finished in classic Ferrari Rosso Rubino, with a black leather interior, and was fitted with covered headlamps from new

The stunning SWB 250 GT California Spyder on offer, chassis no. 3119 GT, is one such example. It was sold new in March 1962, through official importer Jacques Swaters’ Garage Francorchamps SA, of Brussels, Belgium. The first owner was Fredy Damman.

Ferrari built 106 examples of the 250 GT California Spider between 1957 and 1963. Fifty examples were the LWB version while the remaining 56 were SWB examples. Jan De Vroom campaigned his SWB California Spider at both the 1960 24 Hours of Le Mans and the 1961 12 Hours of Sebring, where he finished 12th overall.

The UK registration number 4 RU that barchetta.cc says 2591GT was on in 1983 is currently allocated to a 1961 Ferrari of 2953cc according to the RAC.
